change your thinking. change your life. make life amazing

conceive, believe, achieve

Do you believe in “the law of attraction”? Do you believe in the power of setting goals? Do you believe that “what the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve”?

No matter how you define it, however you choose to understand it… do not doubt that whatever you desire IS possible.

That’s what this was all about in the first place, but even I am stunned at how it turned out to be such a powerful thing. I actually didn’t know how the hell I was going to finish a marathon, I actually didn’t know how I was going to run more than a few metres in fact.

But look at the evidence…

goal of running – achieved, 10km fun run done in the first year
marathon goal – achieved, 42.2km done within 18 months

Then I discovered what I had been looking for, for a long long time – a passion. But it was for running, motivating, inspiring – not building web sites. So another long term goal achieved!

So I put it out there – sub-60 10km – achieved!
and I made a list of long-term goals – with London Marathon at the top of the dream marathon list. This is actually a “secret” dream that has been burning away inside for a very long time.

On April 13th 2014, I will be running in the Virgin Money London Marathon. It will be just over 2 years since I was 142.6kg, a smoker, a fairly regular drinker, a non-exerciser, a 42 year old heart attack waiting to happen…

Now tell me that “the universe” doesn’t deliver, as long as you set your mind to it, believe it, embrace it and be grateful for the journey as it unfolds….

People scoff at things like The Secret – heck, I did for years. But it’s just packaging around some fairly ancient truths – you may need to find a different form of packaging – Napoleon Hill for example, or any of the material referenced in Old Masters Young Guns

But whatever intellectual “hook” that you can find to hang your hat on – find it, set your goals, have faith and belief that they will be achieved, have faith that dreams come true… the result is nothing short of magical.

Yep, we’ve seen some amazing results, too. Still trying to tweak some basics, but there’s no denying there is truth there. The way you think matters. It takes a bit of practice, a bit of discipline, but it’s worth the effort.

    Cheers to you! 😀
