if i lose myself

So this morning’s session was 3 x 1.6km intervals. More precisely…

1.6km warm-up
1.6km at 5:15 to 5:25 per km pace
400m recovery
1.6km at 5:15 to 5:25 per km pace
400m recovery
1.6km at 5:15 to 5:25 per km pace
1.6km cool-down

So how did it go? Short version – it hurt! Long version – it hurt a lot!

It was a very good run as it happens, but I found it very hard work keeping the pace steady during each interval. The third and final one was hard to keep up in the required range, but as Jackie says “if the last one wasn’t the hardest, I would have to adjust those paces”.

At the end of the session I was hot, sweaty and smiling. When I checked the data, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the paces were pretty good overall. I was happy with the way it went, and, importantly, so was Coach Jackie! LOL.
